Transformation - Part 1

Changed From the Inside Out

Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

WHAT IS TRANSFORMATION?

Transformation simply means CHANGE.

Real transformation changes you from the inside out.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

Jesus came to make us new.

He changes:

  • How we think

  • How we respond

  • What we desire

  • How we treat people

  • How we handle difficulty

Transformation isn’t perfection. It’s progress.

1. TRANSFORMATION STARTS ON THE INSIDE

God will use what you’re going through to develop:
Patience.
Faith.
Character.
Wisdom.
Strength.

Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

Here’s the encouragement:
God is working on you.
And He’s not finished.

2. TRANSFORMATION CHANGES HOW YOU THINK

Romans 12:2 (NLT)
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

If I want my life to change, eventually my thinking has to change.

Faith says:
“I can do all things through Christ.”
When you feel alone:
“He will never leave me nor forsake me.”

3. TRANSFORMATION TAKES TIME

2 Corinthians 3:18 (NLT)
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

“Being transformed.”

It’s a process.

Transformation doesn’t always happen overnight.
